If you missed my note above, keep in mind that nights 4 and 5 may be swapped depending on your itinerary. We know you want to look your best from head to toe, but when it comes to dining at The Chef’s Table, not all shoes are created equal! Please only wear closed-toe flat shoes that aren’t prone to slipping, since the experience involves a tour through the galley — a fully-functional, professional kitchen environment. Awaken and delight yours on a Carnival cruise with delicious main dishes, tempting desserts and general yumminess everywhere you look. As always, guests can order beer, wine or cocktails from their server in the main dining room, and the Cheers! Drink package is accepted here as in all other venues on board the ship.
Carnival’s 7-Night Dinner Menu, Night 2 (elegant night)
They also offer a port day express breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, sausage, bread/pastries, and orange juice — designed to get guests in and out and on their way quickly. The main dining room menus will also feature offerings from popular specialty dining restaurants. We now have more information on Carnival’s menu update for the main dining room. By the end of 2023, Carnival’s North America-based cruise ships will have the new main dining room menus. Brand ambassador John Heald, recently confirmed the new dates on his Facebook page.
A notable item missing from the new menus is the grilled salmon in the everyday section. While each night does include seafood choices (sometimes salmon!), it’s no longer available as a constant standby. Carnival Cruise Line features a number of dining options that are all included in the cruise fare. From casual spots like BlueIguana Cantina and Guy’s Burger Joint to the more elegant main dining room. Available on all ships in the MDR on most port days.
In revealing details about the menus, Carnival President Christine Duffy said “nearly 60 new entree presentations” were featured over a week. This means that a cruiser could quickly eat in the complimentary dining room every night of their sailing without ever ordering the same thing twice. Another addition is the highly-requested ‘Featured Salad’ section, which includes a different salad entrée each night. These include the beefsteak salad, ultimate cobb salad, Asian chopped salad with chicken, and more.
Unless otherwise noted, all items on these new Carnival main dining room menus are included in the price of your cruise. However, guests are limited to two entrée selections. At the time of writing, Carnival’s breakfast dining room menu remains the same. Breakfast options continue to include things like eggs benedict, vanilla French toast, omelets, a breakfast bowl, pancakes, a smoked salmon bagel, waffles, and oatmeal.

Carnival chefs are also addressing larger portion offerings for certain entrees, along with additional vegetarian options and entrée salads. The Seaday Brunch is available on all ships in the MDR on sea days. Will there be one formal night or two on a 6-night Carnival cruise?
Here are the test menus currently available exclusively on the Dream. I’ll be posting the final, fleet-wide version of the menus as soon as I receive them. In the meantime, post your feedback to the comments here and to John Healds Facebook page.
One of the most exciting additions to the menu is a section called ‘Emeril’s Select,’ which are dishes Carnival says are “personally recommended” by Lagasse. These include things like crab and shrimp cake, BBQ salmon, crawfish strudel, jambalaya pasta, coffee glazed roast duck, and fried Mississippi catfish. The order and menus listed above are subject to change at any time and may depend on your itinerary, ports of call, and supply chains. The enhancements was initially tested on Carnival Dream and modified based on guest feedback.
Another featured salad is the Smoked Salmon with Farro and Goat Cheese. One evening, the appetizer was Beef Carpaccio, with the entree being Herb Crusted Salmon. On another evening, the Emeril Selects choices were a Cerviche Crudo appetizer and a Jambalaya Pasta for the entree.
So what’s new on Carnival’s updated main dining room menus? First, you should know that the menus feature dozens of new dishes specially curated by Carnival’s Chief Culinary Officer Emeril Lagasse, alongside Carnival’s chefs. Treat your taste buds to the experience of a lifetime, culminating in a sumptuous multicourse dinner hosted by the Master Executive Chef. Your VIP experience starts with a champagne toast and hors d’oeuvres for a select group of 12-16, followed by a tour to see the galley in operation.
Read on to find out what’s changed, which items come with an added charge, and why the menu being rolled out might not be the final version. The new Carnival Cruise Line menus have been introduced with assistance from chief culinary officer/celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. Rollout dates for Carnival Pride and Carnival Venezia have not been announced. The upcoming Carnival Jubilee will feature the new menu shortly after entering service in December.
